3 Feet for Pete has been established to engender safer riding habits among the many cyclists in Southern Nevada, and to educate Nevada's drivers about the Three Foot law that is meant to protect riders. Any and all donations will serve this end.
3-Foot Rule:
When passing cyclists, motorists must move into the adjacent lane to the left, if possible.
If not, motorists must pass with at least three
feet of space between the vehicle and bicycle.
(NRS 484B.270)
Our Three Guiding Principles:
By registering for our ride and donating to our cause, we are asking fellow cyclists to reinvest in their own safety, by committing to the following principles. It is our goal to create a culture of safe riding in Southern Nevada, by first becoming examples of cycling safety.

Our Three Guiding Principles:
By registering for our ride and donating to our cause, we are asking fellow cyclists to reinvest in their own safety, by committing to the following principles. It is our goal to create a culture of safe riding in Southern Nevada, by first becoming examples of cycling safety.
- Know the law and obey it. This goes for drivers and cyclists. Less confusion on the roadways will lead to safer interactions between cars and riders.
- Be a defensive rider! Look, Listen and consider cars in advance of coming into contact with them. Don't assume a motorist will act in a certain way. Also, be conservative, cautious and courteous.
- Seek riding routes that actually have 3 feet: Choose riding routes with bike lanes or wide shoulders. Lawmakers and planners in NV and across the country have worked hard to provide cyclists with these safe zones. We should use them!
